The Senior Tax Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in overseeing tax reporting and adherence within the organization. This description aims to provide essential insights into the responsibilities of the Senior Tax Compliance Officer, though it is not an exhaustive enumeration of the skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities, or working conditions related to the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and evaluation of federal and state income/franchise tax submissions.
  • Development of ASC740 Federal and State Quarterly Tax Provisions.
  • Management of corporate tax controls to ensure compliance.
  • Review and analysis of sales tax and personal property tax submissions.
  • Conducting tax research initiatives for management review.
  • Assisting with budget analysis and completion.
  • Researching international tax matters and collaborating with global consultants.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work autonomously.
  • Exhibiting strong organizational skills and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Advising leadership on the tax implications of business activities and strategies for tax liability reduction.
  • Ensuring compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Supervising external tax service providers effectively.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical tax documentation.
  • Leading, developing, and mentoring team members on various projects, while assessing performance through formal reviews and informal feedback.
  • Executing additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of relevant tax experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) and financial software applications (OneSource – Income Tax, Provision, and Property Tax).
  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, along with interpreting complex technical instructions.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting intricate documents; capable of responding effectively to sensitive inquiries and delivering persuasive presentations on complex topics.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in advanced mathematical concepts and their application to various analytical tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively within a team.
