Position Overview

As a Project Engineer at Enprotech, you will engage in a variety of projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include conducting project assessments, structuring components, and developing shop routers. For new parts and equipment, you may be involved in design tasks utilizing Solidworks for modeling and drafting. For repair and refurbishment assignments, you will apply engineering principles to evaluate worn and damaged components, formulating plans to restore them to original specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all technical activities to ensure project precision and quality from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and clients to generate engineered work scopes and labor/material estimates.
  • Develop repair strategies, value-added enhancements, and innovative design concepts for existing heavy manufacturing machinery.
  • Create and maintain project schedules while coordinating necessary resources.
  • Regularly interact with purchasing, sales, and production teams to ensure alignment.
  • Provide consistent updates on project progress and status.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks software.
  • Capability to create new designs and modify existing prints to align with manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles as they apply to mechanical systems.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competence in overseeing production aspects, including selection of manufacturing and repair methods.
  • Ability to estimate costs and prepare bids for engineering solutions.
  • Experience in supervising installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure equipment meets specifications.
  • Skill in recommending design modifications to prevent equipment malfunctions.
  • Proficient in analyzing customer design proposals and specifications to assess feasibility and maintenance needs.

Educational Background and Experience

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Previous experience in steel manufacturing, refurbishment, or machine shops is advantageous.
