Job Overview

The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in the collection, assessment, validation, and dissemination of financial data. The Financial Operations Manager may also provide strategic insights to other departments by applying financial observations and recommendations to enhance their operations. Furthermore, this role aids the organization in mitigating legal risks by staying informed about current and upcoming regulations, enforcing financial compliance, and proposing innovative processes. Participation in professional development opportunities to refine the company's financial strategies is also expected.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Generate accurate financial reports and present findings effectively.
  • Analyze financial data and summarize overall financial conditions.
  • Identify discrepancies and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost management.
  • Provide expert guidance and support on management accounting.
  • Review and suggest enhancements to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeeping staff.
  • Engage in the establishment of financial standards and forecasting processes.
  • Contribute to the department's goal-setting initiatives.
  • Prepare financial statements and develop budgets in accordance with established timelines.
  • Assist with tax audits and the preparation of tax returns.
  • Oversee internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Plan, delegate, and review the work of team members.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Qualifications:
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fundamental accounting practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Awareness of current business trends.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Proficient in accounting software applications, such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Numerical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
