Senior Geotechnical Engineer

RCG Moody International Limited c/- Intertek is a prominent provider of quality assurance and safety solutions, dedicated to serving a diverse range of industries. We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to enhance our team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for professional development within the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) sector.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be tasked with delivering geotechnical engineering and project management services for various projects. This position is designed for individuals who are beginning their journey in the geotechnical engineering field, working under the mentorship of seasoned professionals. Responsibilities include:
  • Executing a range of tasks that involve independent assessments utilizing established techniques and criteria, while applying judgment to make minor adjustments as necessary.
  • Drafting and reviewing engineering documentation, project plans, and specifications.
  • Overseeing and coordinating work assignments for team members.
  • Developing scopes, budgets, task orders, and timelines for project assignments.
  • Creating proposals for professional services.
  • Collaborating with Professional Engineers, Senior Project Managers, and Principal Consultants to review recommendations.
  • Maintaining and leveraging client relationships to identify new project opportunities.
  • Participating in client meetings on-site.
  • Effectively communicating with clients and project teams.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Providing training to technicians and other technical staff.
  • Conducting on-site observations, sample collection, and specific testing as required.
  • Occasionally working in both field and laboratory settings.
  • Adhering to safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited institution is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain EIT/FE Certification within six months of employment is essential.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal abilities are required.
  • Basic proficiency in mathematics, computing, and the ability to interpret work plans is necessary.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours and overtime as needed.
  • A valid Driver's License and a reliable driving record are required.
Physical Demands:
  • Capability to lift, move, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more with assistance.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through auditory communication and discern sounds.
  • Occasional kneeling and squatting may be required.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional climbing may be necessary.
Preferred Experience:
  • One or more years of experience in geotechnical engineering is preferred, though training will be provided.
  • EIT/FE Certification is highly desirable.
