Role Overview:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will harness your expertise to provide strategic guidance and oversight across a spectrum of projects. Your role will encompass:
- Managing project resources and personnel while ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Leading geotechnical investigations, design, and analysis for various infrastructure projects, including but not limited to residential and commercial buildings, bridges, highways, and railways.
- Overseeing subsurface explorations and laboratory testing, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
- Directing geotechnical design for foundations, earthworks, and slope stability analyses.
- Coordinating with clients and stakeholders to address geotechnical concerns comprehensively.
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional growth.
- Engaging in business development efforts to foster long-term client relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Participating actively in professional associations.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required; a master's degree in geotechnical engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, focusing on design, analysis, and construction supervision.
- Must possess a valid Professional Engineer license in the state of Florida.
- Local experience and familiarity with regional engineering practices are advantageous.
Technical Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective teamwork.
- Extensive knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and related fields.
- Experience in overseeing foundation and pavement construction, as well as earthwork observation.
- Proficiency in geotechnical engineering software.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA, and IBC standards.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing geotechnical projects and teams.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary.
- Ability to pass a background check for clearance to work on various facilities.
