Position Title: Material Take Off Estimator

Compensation: Starting at a competitive rate, based on experience

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Role Overview: The Material Take Off Estimator is responsible for reviewing customer construction plans to ascertain the necessary materials and generating estimates for both internal take-offs and those provided by external vendors. This role involves communication with both internal teams and external clients, playing a crucial role in the company’s commitment to exemplary service through collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine customer building plans to compile a detailed list of required materials.
  • Prepare material quotes based on the compiled lists.
  • Input vendor take-offs into the ERP system to generate quotes.
  • Reconcile monthly invoices from external vendors.
  • Maintain an updated departmental log reflecting the status of each order.
  • Assist in scanning store files for other departments.
  • Update and maintain the software database of templates for use by external vendors.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with approximately 18 external vendors, including training on invoicing and software updates.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in construction and familiarity with building plans.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Proficiency with relevant software.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and other necessary equipment.
  • Typing speed of 40+ words per minute.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to engage professionally and courteously in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in handling sensitive business matters with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to identify and implement improvements to processes and tools for enhanced workplace efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of management and staff, including effective public speaking.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work independently, collaboratively, and lead within a sales cohort with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond professionally to changing circumstances.
  • Effective stress management and interpersonal interaction skills.

Working Environment:
This position is primarily office-based, requiring extended periods of sitting or standing at a desk with a computer.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Capability to work indoors in a standard office setting throughout the day.
  • Must be able to grasp, communicate, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects over a distance of 50 feet.
