Job Title: Complex HR Coordinator

At Southernmost Beach Resort, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Complex HR Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, benefits administration, and employee relations.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer insurance benefits, explain benefits, and assist with completion of enrollment forms.
  • Enter payroll information on computer, including wage information and changes.
  • Conduct prescreening interviews and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Maintain new hire, termination, and transfer and promotion logbooks.
  • Audit hours worked in payroll reports for eligibility of benefits.
  • Compile wage surveys and monitor Leave of Absence log.
  • Monitor Workman's Compensation claims and complete First Report of Injury and Employer's Report of Industrial Injury.
  • Answer questions regarding 401K Plan, vacation, and benefits.
  • Maintain complimentary room night log and process employee requests.
  • Prepare and place recruitment advertising and process paperwork for terminating employees.
  • Schedule Orientation and assist in Orientation, explaining benefits and conducting a tour of the property.
  • Write articles and take pictures for the property newsletter and assist with special projects.
  • Assist with employee housing as needed.
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or related industry, or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience, or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility required.
  • College course work in a related field is helpful.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws is helpful.

Physical Requirements:

  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
