**Job Summary**

CALM is seeking an experienced Child Development Specialist to join our team in Santa Barbara County. As a key member of our community-based mental health agency, you will play a vital role in promoting healthy social and emotional development in children aged 0-5.

About the Role

  • Implement evidence-based mental health best practices in collaboration with families and caregivers to promote positive relationships, routines, and practices that support healthy child development.
  • Conduct observations to assess and inform classroom culture, daily routines, relationships, transitions, and challenging behaviors.
  • Develop written intervention strategies using a team approach to assist providers with positive behavior-support strategies.
  • Connect and refer families and providers to programs, resources, and supports that foster their development while addressing barriers to access.
  • Provide group and individual training on social and emotional wellness with specific topics related to infant and early childhood development, trauma-informed care, attachment, self-care, and other related topics.
  • Requirements
    • Master's degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
    • At least two years of experience working with children aged birth to five.
    • Strong commitment to CALM's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office and web-based systems.
