Child Development Specialist

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team at Cortica. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert occupational therapy services to children with neurodevelopmental differences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish Treatment Goals: Utilize dynamic and standardized assessment tools to set occupational therapy treatment goals that cater to the unique needs of each child.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to create cohesive treatment plans and integrative strategies that promote comprehensive care.
- Provide Individualized Therapy: Deliver individual therapy sessions, as well as group and/or co-treats with other disciplines, to provide a tailored approach to each child's needs.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and billing in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy.
- Sensory Processing and Regulation: Implement play-based and goal-based interventions to promote sensory processing, regulation, and skill development in daily occupations.
- Functional and Stimulating Experiences: Design and facilitate functional and stimulating experiences to target and achieve individualized goals.
- Support for Daily Living: Develop strategies and supports to help individuals more fully engage in activities of daily living.
- Collaboration with Families: Work closely with individuals and their families to understand their values, interests, and goals.
- Program Development: Contribute to the development of programs that consider all aspects of the child, including sensorimotor, cognitive, communicative, recreational, and social activities.
- Education and Training: Educate patients, families, team members, and caregivers on home programs that complement treatment.
- Direct Patient Care: Deliver at least 27 hours of direct patient care each week, excluding time for training, documentation, and administrative meetings.
- Physical Demands: The role requires occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Team Member Requirements: Team members must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Master's Degree: A master's degree in a related field.
- Current License/Certification: A current and unrestricted license and/or certification required to practice within your clinical domain, with the ability to obtain cross-state licensure in new states as indicated by the current business needs.
- Excellent Clinical Skills: Excellent clinical skills and a passion for working with children.
- Multi-Disciplinary Setting: Experience working in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting.
- Flexibility and Openness to Learning: A willingness to be flexible and open to learning new approaches and technologies.
- Software and System Skills: Proficiency in using software and systems, including electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.
- HIPAA Regulations: Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the ability to safeguard patient information.
