Job Overview

The St. Louis Economic Development Partnership is seeking a talented Business Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Business Finance Department, you will be responsible for marketing our loan programs and providing essential guidance to businesses in St. Louis City and County.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to market our 504 loan program and other STLPartnership loan and bond programs to various groups, including bankers, accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, chambers of commerce, business associations, and trade groups.

Main Responsibilities

  • Market the 504 loan program and other STLPartnership loan and bond programs to various groups, including bankers, accountants, attorneys, real estate agents, chambers of commerce, business associations, and trade groups.
  • Meet with applicants to assist with the application process, provide detailed explanations of the programs, and gather necessary supporting documentation and required fees.
  • Provide essential information to St. Louis County and City businesses, assisting them with starting a business, reviewing business plans, and providing direction to alternative financing sources or making referrals to other St. Louis County and City business assistance providers.
  • Evaluate, process, and recommend loans by analyzing business and personal financial statements, credit reports, company history, and collateral/guaranty values.
  • Prepare loan officer reports and complete loan packages for credit committee and board review, and in some instances, final review by a third party.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in business development or a related field.
