Job Title: SBA Business Development Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled SBA Business Development Officer to join our team at Heritage Bank. As a key member of our commercial banking team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our small business clients, identifying new business opportunities, and developing strategic relationships to drive growth and revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a full range of commercial banking services to small to medium-sized businesses, with a focus on SBA commercial lending, deposit generation, and credit quality.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through calling, marketing, and referrals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects, providing financial expertise, counsel, and solutions to meet their business needs.
  • Collaborate with other lines of business to build a trusted and productive sales and service referral process.
  • Stay up-to-date on banking and lending rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with all bank policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or relevant discipline preferred.
  • 2+ years of recent experience as a credit analyst and/or commercial banker or similar position requiring strong business knowledge and credit judgment.
  • Recent SBA lending experience strongly desired.
  • Excellent business development skills with proven success in prospecting and building relationships to enhance commercial/SBA loan opportunities.
Work Environment:

Our office environment is climate-controlled, and you will occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, concentrating on tasks while dealing with frequent employee and customer contacts and interruptions.

Physical Demands:

The job requires constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day. You will need to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner, and facsimile, which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion.

Travel Time:

Frequent travel for business development and customer meetings is required. You will need to have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and access to reliable transportation or an alternative method of transportation to carry out job-related essential functions.
