Position Overview

The Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of internal communications, public relations, media engagement, content development, and social media initiatives. This position requires a strong emphasis on writing and editing skills. The individual will be tasked with creating, leading, and implementing a comprehensive internal communications strategy aimed at boosting employee engagement and ensuring that all team members are well-informed.

Moreover, the Communications Manager will serve as the primary content creator for the organization, focusing on elevating awareness and fostering positive perceptions of the Foundation For The Carolinas brand and its associated entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute effective internal communication strategies that promote cohesive messaging and cultivate a robust organizational culture. Facilitate information sharing among employees and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Foundation's mission and objectives. This includes editing, writing, content planning, guideline oversight, providing strategic counsel, and monitoring internal communications.
  • Assist the Senior Vice President of Communications in executing public relations strategies, which encompass research, media monitoring, and related activities.
  • Support the Communications Team in achieving internal objectives, including the development of newsletters, mass communications, employee handbooks, and more.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to create engaging content, including videos and other multimedia materials.
  • Lead the production of compelling content that embodies the Foundation's values and goals across various platforms, such as newsletters, articles, reports, promotional materials, and social media. Work in partnership with different departments to gather narratives and insights that showcase our impact.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, particularly in internal communications within an office or hybrid environment is preferred.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft clear, impactful, and motivating messages.
  • Experience in developing, adhering to, and guiding internal communication standards and objectives.
  • Proficiency in internal communications best practices.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to drive projects and think innovatively.
  • Demonstrated experience in communications, public relations, media relations, content creation, and social media management.
  • A strong passion for the Foundation's mission and a commitment to fostering a positive community impact.
