The North Face: Retail Team Leader

As a Retail Team Leader, you will guide, inspire, and develop a group of brand associates, ensuring a consistently exceptional customer experience that reflects our brand's mission and values.
You will collaborate with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to enhance profitability by ensuring that customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community involvement align with company standards.
Take an active role in your own professional development through the brand's quarterly DOR rotations and Module-Based Leadership Training Program.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and develop staff to surpass individual and store productivity targets.
- Engage customers in discussions about The North Face products, activities, and local community events.
- Oversee floor coverage and activities, including the opening and closing of the store as scheduled.
- In partnership with the Store Manager, provide training and ongoing development of store staff in customer engagement and all company programs, policies, and procedures.
- Assist the Store Manager in achieving all financial and operational objectives, including expense management, Loss Prevention, store audits, and weekly reporting.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on the implementation of visual merchandising directives and maintain standards consistent with company brand strategies; ensure merchandise on the selling floor is replenished appropriately.
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and company directives.
- Exemplify behavior that respects the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultural differences of others while upholding the integrity and values of the VF Corporation and the brand.
- Foster an environment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning by sharing best practices and building on the ideas of others.
Required:
- 1+ years of management experience in a dynamic, engaging retail environment.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that meets the needs of the business, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Proven capability to drive business results through effective team leadership.
- Willingness to learn and share knowledge of products, local community, and relevant experiences.
- Desire to provide an engaging customer experience through personalized service and relationship building.
- Experience in a specialty retail environment, particularly in the outdoor apparel industry or outdoor equipment sales.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to operate office equipment and technology (e.g., computers, tablets, phones, copiers).
- Standing required for the entire work shift.
- Ability to bend, lift, open, and move products weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Use ladders for visual merchandising, light adjustments, and window display placements.
