Fiber Splicer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team at Texstar Enterprises. As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for splicing and testing fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform splicing and testing of fiber optic cables
  • Read and create splicing diagrams
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Take accurate field notes and maintain records
  • Test and activate equipment after installation
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance
  • Supervise and train other splicers as needed
  • Complete daily production reports and track work hours
  • Reconcile issued parts and materials daily
Requirements:
  • Previous experience splicing fiber optic cable
  • Basic hand tools and ability to distinguish colors
  • Ability to read and build from blueprints and wire diagrams
  • Knowledge of telecommunications network structure
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in emergencies at night, holidays, and extended days
