About the Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in the state of Oregon, with a rotation schedule of 21 days on and 7 days off for out-of-state travelers. A live-out allowance is provided while employed with Ledcor Technical Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and splice fiber optic cable within telecommunications systems, utilizing knowledge of network structure and fiber optic cable functionality.
- Operate OTDR and fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiber, and read fiber matrices to interpret and analyze data.
- Complete daily production reports to track and communicate daily production and materials, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lift and manipulate splice enclosures and other plant and equipment, and work comfortably in cramped and/or enclosed spaces for extended periods.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol requirements, and possess a clean driver's abstract and valid full-driver's license.
- Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification or education program is required.
- Low Voltage or structured cabling installation is an asset, and proficiency in the use of hand tools and equipment utilized in splicing fiber is necessary.
- Experience operating and performing work in a bucket truck, lift, etc. is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- This position will require travel through the state of Oregon.
