Fiber Optic Cable Specialist

About the Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in the state of Oregon, visiting and working in various locations. The rotation schedule is 21 days on and 7 days off for those traveling from out of state. A live-out allowance is provided while employed with our True Blue team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and splice fiber optic cable within telecommunications systems with precision and accuracy.
- Utilize OTDR and fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiber, ensuring optimal performance.
- Complete daily production reports, documenting work performed and tracking materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations.
- Lift and manipulate splice enclosures and equipment, working comfortably in cramped spaces.
Requirements
- Successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol requirements.
- Possess a valid full-driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
- Combine work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification or education program.
- Low Voltage or structured cabling installation is an asset.
- Proficient in hand tools and equipment used in splicing fiber.
Working Conditions
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven surfaces.
- Travel through the state of Oregon as required.
