Position Summary

We are seeking a Program Development Lead for Advanced Manufacturing to spearhead the evolution of advanced technologies in support of our mission related to materials and manufacturing for national security. This role is crucial in guiding initiatives in areas such as Manufacturing Futures, biomaterials, climate and energy, global security, and nuclear deterrence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for program advancement, particularly focusing on high-risk, high-reward projects with various sponsors, including:
    • Department of Defense (DOD), particularly the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
    • Department of Energy (DOE) offices like Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO).
    • State partnerships and industry collaborations, especially in climate and energy sectors.
  • Oversee a portfolio of strategic projects to deliver Science and Technology (S&T) solutions, ensuring alignment with sponsor expectations and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to formulate a comprehensive Research and Development (R&D) strategy, ensuring the identification of necessary internal resources.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance materials and manufacturing capabilities, addressing critical gaps and formulating risk mitigation strategies.
  • Foster multidisciplinary collaborations across various directorates to pursue funding opportunities effectively.
  • Strengthen relationships with external partners in academia and industry to enhance program development.

Qualifications

  • Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or equivalent Top Secret clearance.
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in business and program development with federal sponsors and industrial partners.
  • Extensive leadership experience managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of establishing trust and credibility.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with a diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant technical field.
  • Passion for national materials and manufacturing programs.
