Lead Quality Assurance Engineer for Weapon Systems

Position Overview
We are seeking multiple experienced Quality Engineers to enhance our Weapons Production Group (WPG). In this role, you will be integral in supporting both ongoing and new initiatives related to weapon system surveillance and production operations.

Department: Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED)
Program: Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE)
Work Arrangement: This position may offer a hybrid work schedule, allowing for a combination of in-person and remote work.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Realization Team (PRT) members to ensure adherence to established procedures for weapon-related products.
- Interact with various stakeholders including designers, engineers, and management to coordinate quality assurance efforts.
- Participate as a core member of multiple PRTs, providing expertise in quality assurance, production, and configuration management.
- Lead the review and critique of Engineering Authorizations (EAs) and documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance across the WTE program.
- Conduct training on quality processes and requirements for engineering and technical staff.
- Perform assessments during formal evaluations at production sites to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Additional Responsibilities for Advanced Level
- Support management in establishing quality direction and strategic engagements.
- Assess and communicate impacts from changes in federal and institutional requirements.
- Provide advanced quality subject matter expertise to engineers and scientists.
- Identify and monitor corrective actions to address quality issues.

Qualifications
- Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices.
- Significant experience with QA/QC documentation and engineering testing operations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet programmatic needs.

Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with NNSA Weapon Quality Policy and related standards.
- Knowledge of materials and technologies relevant to mechanical hardware production.
- Experience with CAD and design software tools.
