Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Risk Analyst to join our team at Heritage Bank. As a key member of our commercial banking team, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data and credit information to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete financial spreads of personal and business financial statements using our software tools.
  • Assist with the preparation of individually evaluated loan worksheets to determine the allowance for credit loss on those loans.
  • Track and coordinate the process for annual term loan reviews on commercial real estate, agricultural, and equipment/non-real estate loans.
  • Determine the need for more thorough investigation or additional information, and monitor and follow up on outstanding items in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to loan officers as needed.
  • Assist with capturing data, tracking, and analyzing trends, and preparing management and board reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Utilize existing economic and market data to perform periodic studies and analyses to support the markets we serve.
  • Participate in other projects, including ad-hoc data manipulation, reporting, analysis, and market data research, working closely with the management team to identify potential problems and implement process improvements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or relevant discipline preferred.
  • Level I: 1+ years recent relevant work experience in commercial banking or credit risk management required.
  • Level II: 3+ years recent credit/collateral analysis experience in a financial services industry required.
  • Accounting and financial statement analysis skills as developed through a combination of education and work experience required.
Work Environment

This is a climate-controlled office environment that requires regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedules. The successful candidate will be able to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule and/or extended hours as needed.

Physical Demands

This role requires the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day. The ability to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner, and facsimile is also required.
