Core Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Strategy: Formulate and execute operational plans for waste management and recycling initiatives while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Education and Innovation: Develop programs aimed at enhancing knowledge about solid waste and recycling, promoting awareness and encouraging constructive action.
  • Commitment to Safety: Implement safety measures to guarantee a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work alongside governmental agencies, community stakeholders, and internal teams to maintain solid waste standards and regulatory permits.
  • Management of Operations: Supervise landfill activities from waste handling to environmental assessments, ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, complemented by four years of experience in solid waste management, including supervisory roles.
  • Thorough understanding of environmental legislation, soil mechanics, and landfill design and construction.
  • Strong communication abilities, with a proven track record in budget management, planning, and personnel oversight.
  • Landfill Operator Certification (SWANA) or the ability to obtain it within a year.
