Responsibilities:

Oversees a team of subordinate Portfolio Managers, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure successful execution against launch objectives for assigned service offers.

Recommends and oversees execution of a strategy for assigned software portfolio, using comprehensive knowledge of market, competitive landscape, customer requirements, distribution channels, and Zebra offerings.

Anticipates market and customer requirements for an assigned product line/portfolio. Oversees and approves subordinate VOC and competitive landscape activities, and beta planning. Monitors target markets and identifies opportunities for innovation.

May manage a portfolio directly, working autonomously to develop and present business cases by completing supportive research, authoring slides, and delivering presentations to internal and external audiences, routinely including senior management.

Monitor and report business metrics against plan. Recommends metrics to assess business performance. Develops documentation of product and market requirements. Manages and approves development of documentation of product and market requirements for portfolio.

Owns product lifecycle management for assigned product lines/families of moderate to high complexity, including tactical execution, managing custom requirements, developing and driving end-of-life plans, and execution of inventory objectives.

Demonstrates full knowledge of development process. May delegate and oversee the work of Portfolio Manager 1 or 2 level team members in executing tactical objectives to support execution to strategy.

Contributes to 3-5 year roadmap development process and makes recommendations on the long-term strategy for the product line.

Approves pricing strategy and product price to maximize sales and profitability. Manages promotion strategy recommendations by working in collaboration with Product Marketing department. Approves recommendations to influence distribution strategy to meet market needs. Reviews and approves product training materials for use with sales, sales engineers, technical support, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Works closely with development teams and other key stakeholders to oversee new service development, validating development is on spec. Identifies beta site targets, drafts, and implements plans.

Monitors financial performance of product lines and makes recommendations for pricing action against revenue and margin objectives. Sets target product costs for new products. Evaluates cost reduction initiatives working in concert with Sustaining Engineering, Finance, and other internal partners.

Approves and manages execution against cost reduction initiatives working in concert with cross-functional teams.

Contributes to innovation by generating ideas for new offerings.

Directly supervises one or more Portfolio Managers.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.

12 or more years of experience in software product lifecycle management or implementation.

2+ years as team supervisor/manager.

Strong business acumen/industry knowledge in one or more primary verticals (Retail & CPG preferred).

Demonstrated experience in managing execution of portfolio management functions.

Advanced P&L knowledge.

25% travel required globally.

Candidate must be located in the Eastern or Central US time zone. If in Canada, must be located in the Toronto area.

Global product management experience.

Advanced market knowledge in assigned category.

Intermediate analytical and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills - Formal presentation training strongly preferred.
