Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team at Life Care Center of Port Townsend. As an integral part of our activities department, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities for our patients, ensuring their recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing quality activity programs, including entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education.
  • Chart patient progress and behavior in a descriptive and accurate manner.
  • Escort patients to and from activities and make regular in-room visits to those uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients and demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.
  • Valid driver's license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in arts/crafts/music is preferred.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
