Job Title: Public Health Advisor, Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and STI

Job Summary:

The City of New York is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Health Advisor to join the Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and STI Prevention. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting confidential disease investigations and interventions for persons diagnosed with, exposed to, or at risk of acquiring certain sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct confidential, timely, and accurate disease investigations and interventions
  • Provide education and training to providers and community groups
  • Monitor disease trends and assist with research and evaluation to improve sexual health and wellness

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education, or in health, social or biological sciences
  • Or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and six months of full-time satisfactory experience in a health promotion or disease intervention/prevention program

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to travel to various locations throughout the city. A valid driver's license is required.
