Job Overview

The Commercial Banking Relationship Manager II plays a pivotal role in driving business development, credit quality, and relationship development and retention. As a liaison with other business line partners, this individual is responsible for meeting the Banking needs of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Focus on acquiring new clients and expanding relationships with existing clients, responding quickly and effectively to new business referrals from Senior Management, the branch network, or other areas of the bank.
  • Network Development: Develop a network of external referral sources/centers of influence (COI's) to attract new clients.
  • Portfolio Management: Maintain, grow, and service assigned portfolios, cross-selling other bank products to drive profitability, quality, and growth.
  • Credit Negotiation: Negotiate terms of lending agreements with clients/prospects, structuring and pricing credit facilities consistent with the bank's credit policies and lending practices.
  • Credit Monitoring: Ensure the bank has current financial information, properly analyzed and on file, monitoring and reporting changes in credit quality.
  • Loan Closing: Oversee the loan closing process, attending closings to ensure legal documents reflect agreed terms, and required documents and signatures are in place.
Requirements
  • Interpersonal and Presentation Skills: Strong ability to build relationships, present effectively, and communicate clearly.
  • Credit Analysis and Structuring: Ability to critically review, analyze, and structure commercial loans, cross-sell bank products, and attract new business.
  • Credit Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of credit underwriting, basic accounting, and loan documentation, with formal credit training preferred.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently or as a team to achieve Departmental goals, using sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as prospecting/tracking tools like Salesforce, nCino, or similar systems.
  • Professional Practices: Familiarity with professional business practices, including time management, communication, and appearance.
Experience
  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years related lending and/or credit experience with community and/or industry involvement in the area.
  • License: Valid driver's license.
