The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB) is a 501(c)3 designated non-profit organization and Tribal organization, serving the 43 federally recognized Tribes in the states of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Our mission is to eliminate health disparities and improve the quality of life of American Indians and Alaska Natives by supporting Northwest Tribes in their delivery of culturally appropriate, high-quality health programs and services.

Job Summary

The Tribal Health Training Manager is responsible for developing and coordinating the design and implementation of public health worker development and training for NPAIHB member tribes, and public health training for the NPAIHB. This position will work closely with staff experts to develop curriculums and training materials, coordinate in-person trainings, develop online trainings, select and supervise outside trainings and vendors, and implement feedback collection tools in collaboration with state, local, and tribal public health or community-based partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement public health worker development and training programs for NPAIHB member tribes
  • Coordinate in-person trainings, online trainings, and other training activities
  • Work with staff experts to develop curriculums and training materials
  • Select and supervise outside trainings and vendors
  • Implement feedback collection tools and evaluate training effectiveness
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Education or a Health-related area or similar field
  • At least two years of experience in the design and implementation of workforce and training development, including adult education techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in training and teaching, facilitating training activities, and writing effective reports to funders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience working with Northwest Tribes and tribal communities
  • Experience as a trainer for online learning system platforms
  • Knowledge of grants administration and funding agencies
Work Environment

This position is based at NPAIHB's offices in Portland, Oregon. Local travel and/or overnight travel outside of the area is required approximately 15% of the time.
