Position Overview: The Technical Support Specialist I plays a crucial role in providing daily operational assistance to the end-user community. This includes the installation, configuration, upgrading, and maintenance of workstation and peripheral devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues reported by the Customer Support Center while implementing new functionalities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Quality Solutions: Deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions to users at all levels.
  • Performance Assessment: Evaluate and diagnose basic configuration and hardware issues, implementing standard maintenance procedures to enhance workstation performance.
  • Software Management: Under supervision, install, configure, and maintain operating system software on client workstations, providing support for basic application features.
  • Operating Systems: Install and maintain various workstation operating systems, including DOS, Windows, and NetWare.
  • Client Hardware: Manage workstation hardware components such as processors, memory, and peripherals.
  • Network Administration: Assist in managing local area network services and configurations under supervision.
  • Telecommunications Support: Aid in the maintenance of telecommunication systems, ensuring connectivity.
  • Inventory Tracking: Document and manage hardware and software inventory effectively.
  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with vendors for service-related inquiries as directed.
  • Reporting: Generate necessary departmental reports related to assigned projects and help desk issues.
  • Project Collaboration: Work with project teams to understand business applications and provide technical support.
  • Team Dynamics: Foster a collaborative environment through effective teamwork on assigned projects.

Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management.

This position is full-time and plays a vital role in supporting the operational goals of CHRISTUS Health.
