Role Summary:

This full-time role involves supporting various program locations and reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources and Strategic Staffing. We seek a meticulous Director of Labor Relations who is committed to fostering a fair and constructive workplace while facilitating effective communication among employees, management, and union representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and support management during labor relations negotiations, including drafting proposals and leading discussions with union representatives.
  • Oversee collective bargaining processes, ensuring legal compliance and proposing necessary adjustments to contracts.
  • Engage with management, executives, and union representatives to cultivate a positive work environment, address employee grievances, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Evaluate existing labor contracts and HR policies to assess employee relations and implement innovative strategies to enhance morale and productivity.
  • Handle labor grievances by investigating incidents, validating claims, and ensuring compliance with contract policies.
  • Collaborate with Legal, HR, and other departments to maintain positive employee relations and facilitate effective communication.
  • Prepare and deliver informative presentations to management to enhance understanding of labor relations and improve contract management solutions.
  • Assist management during critical situations, such as labor disputes, to facilitate negotiations and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Full-time availability.
  • Bachelor's degree in labor relations or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in labor or employee relations.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in conflict resolution.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Professional training in labor law or collective bargaining is preferred.
