Position Overview:

This role is situated within the Safety and Technical Training, Policy & Performance Directorate, specifically in the Safety Analysis Group (AJI). This group is dedicated to providing data management, system development, and data science capabilities that facilitate risk-based decision-making processes.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (FV-I or FG/GS-13). This experience should be directly related to the responsibilities of the position and must have equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively perform the duties required.

To be considered valid, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the typical career progression for the occupation within the organization.

Experience Requirements:
Applicants should have experience in either military or civilian air traffic facilities that demonstrates the possession of the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the specialization being applied for. This experience must have provided a comprehensive understanding of relevant air traffic control laws, rules, and regulations.

Definition of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in separating and managing air traffic to translate policies and procedures into software applications utilized for safety tools, dashboards, and metric development.
- Proficiency in using programming and general-purpose scripting languages to troubleshoot, diagnose, correct, and resolve user-reported issues in software applications and tools.

It is essential to include relevant examples of specialized experience in your work history. Any errors or omissions may affect your evaluation or could result in disqualification.

Eligible applicants who meet the minimum qualification requirements and/or selective placement factors (SPF) may undergo further evaluation based on the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) and/or Quality Ranking Factor (QRF) outlined in the announcement. Based on this evaluation, applicants will be categorized into one of the following groups: (1) score order; (2) category grouping; or (3) alphabetical order for referral to the selecting official.

Additional Information:
In accordance with HRPM EMP 1.29/1.29a, this position may be part of a Career Enhancement Program/Career Progression assignment. Selectees may be eligible for pay retention, though it is not guaranteed. Applicants may be asked to verify information provided in their employment application.
