In your role as a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting patient interviews in various healthcare settings to facilitate optimal benefit coverage.
  • Assisting in the completion of applications for state and federal assistance programs.
  • Reviewing medical documentation to expedite the approval process for benefits.
  • Maintaining compliance with regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Communicating with government entities regarding claim statuses.
  • Providing updates and necessary support to healthcare staff and other team members.
  • Documenting claim statuses and client interactions within our systems.
  • Assessing eligibility for federal, state, or local program applications based on medical criteria.
  • Thriving in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year of direct patient interaction in a healthcare or human services context.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in engaging with diverse patient populations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed between local healthcare facilities.
  • Ability to work during standard business hours with potential for occasional overtime.

  • Understanding of federal and state programs that provide coverage for clients.

  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office demands with periods of standing and walking in healthcare facilities.
  • Compliance with facility health and safety protocols.

This position requires background checks as mandated by state regulations for healthcare professionals with direct patient contact.
