Decatur, Illinois, United States Primient Full time

Power & Controls Specialist
Primient is a prominent manufacturer of food and industrial ingredients derived from sustainable, plant-based sources.

Our commitment spans from production to delivery, emphasizing the utmost safety and quality in our offerings while honoring our responsibilities to our workforce, communities, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage in daily maintenance activities within the designated area. Organize and delegate tasks to technicians and electricians, collaborating closely with maintenance and operations teams.
2. Allocate 50% of your time to communication, administrative tasks, and enhancing supervisory skills, alongside equipment assessments and cost management. The remaining 50% will focus on maintenance-related duties.
3. Coordinate efforts effectively with team members, recognizing priority conflicts and seeking guidance when necessary. Foster strong working relationships with plant maintenance, engineering, operations personnel, and colleagues.
4. Participate in equipment failure analysis, drawing conclusions, making recommendations, and preparing comprehensive reports.
5. Contribute to the design and execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to time and budget constraints.
6. Apply theoretical knowledge and practical techniques across related disciplines, adapting to changes in daily work plans as required.
7. Address a variety of troubleshooting challenges, utilizing expertise in process control and electrical systems to propose corrective actions.
8. Gain recognition among peers for developing expertise in the power and controls sector.
9. Collaborate with process engineers and production staff, maintaining integrity and upholding organizational values in all interactions.
10. Develop and review work plans for preventive maintenance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

This position reports to the Plant Power & Controls Engineer and may involve guidance from a Senior Engineer. While supervision is provided, there is flexibility in managing individual areas.

Performance Metrics:
Demonstrated technical supervision and instruction capabilities are key indicators for potential promotion. Candidates should aim for advancement within a 0 to 2-year timeframe, as experience alone does not determine eligibility for promotion. During the initial years, Power & Controls Specialists will gain hands-on experience and technical assignments, preparing them for future responsibilities and opportunities for growth within the maintenance team. Qualifications:
Entry into this role requires an Associate's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable tradesman position.

What We Offer:
A salaried position with a performance-based bonus structure, competitive salary, and comprehensive benefits from day one.
