Primary Duties:

  • Oversee the client intake process, conduct adversary searches, draft screening memoranda and engagement letters, and initiate new case files.
  • Draft, modify, and format legal documents and correspondence utilizing various software tools, adhering to specific guidelines. Review documents for accuracy, grammar, and formatting before finalization.
  • Prepare necessary documents and fees for electronic submissions, ensuring compliance with instructions. Submit documents electronically to federal and state courts and other relevant agencies.
  • Organize and maintain calendars for timekeepers, including court deadlines, meetings, and other scheduled events.
  • Provide assistance with various projects, overflow tasks, administrative duties, and additional responsibilities to support attorneys and colleagues across the firm.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities as needed, including processing mail, preparing audit responses, completing expense reports, and reviewing billing statements.
  • Exhibit a proactive attitude in supporting the team and foster a collaborative work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal practice assistant is essential.
  • Experience in litigation is mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capability to follow instructions provided in various formats and to resolve issues involving multiple variables.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Frost Brown Todd offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401k/profit-sharing retirement plan.

The compensation range for this position reflects various factors, including skills, experience, and organizational needs. For applicants located in California, the estimated hourly pay range is $35.00 – $45.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience and other job-related factors, in accordance with applicable employment laws.
