DESCRIPTION

Winthrop & Weinstine is in search of a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Litigation Department. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and possess a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to:

  • Drafting and preparing legal documents, correspondence, and agreements, including document comparisons, conversions, and manipulation of PDF files.
  • Electronically submitting litigation documents and pleadings to state, federal, and appellate courts, both regionally and nationally.
  • Managing court schedules, including docketing court orders, briefing timelines, and other mandated litigation dates.
  • Maintaining organized electronic client files, ensuring accurate records of pleadings and client documents.
  • Reviewing and finalizing time entries for attorneys and paralegals, as well as managing client billing processes.
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, and coordinating depositions, while addressing routine correspondence and making necessary arrangements.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to clients, attorneys, and colleagues.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Strong grammar and proofreading capabilities, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic, demonstrating reliability and accountability.
  • Capability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and manage high-pressure situations, particularly with respect to court deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a legal administrative assistant in a business litigation context is preferred.
  • Proficient in using office equipment, including computers and telecommunication devices.
  • Ability to engage in prolonged periods of sitting and computer-related tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 20 lbs may be required.
