Oversee project engineering teams and support staff in the development of work scopes, contract issuance, and budgetary and scheduling matters for new construction initiatives.

Assist project teams in both office and field settings, fostering an independent approach that enhances model-based project management, process workflows, and the integration of construction technologies across business units.

Collaborate with the superintendent and project manager to enforce policies and execute project plans while ensuring adherence to the internal Environmental Health and Safety Plan to maintain a safe working environment, including conducting regular safety audits.

Provide mentorship and guidance to project engineering team members, acting as a liaison to engineers, field office coordinators, project accountants, and other project personnel. Offer direction, prioritize tasks, and deliver constructive feedback. Enforce contractual agreements and manage change orders through negotiation and distribution to both owners and subcontractors. Develop, monitor, and revise project timelines.

Establish and maintain various document control systems, including daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-built records, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order documentation.

Lead the dissemination of updated drawings, modifications, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other critical project information to all relevant stakeholders. Organize and digitally archive project documentation for easy retrieval by the project team. Conduct project closeout procedures and ensure the comprehensive transfer of project information to owners, including the submission of finalized snag lists, project walkthroughs, as-built drawings, test reports, and 3D models with product data.

Prepare owner billing by consolidating DPR costs, reviewing subcontractor invoices, and organizing documentation in line with owner specifications.

Engage in project cost management, maintaining internal records and collaborating with subcontractors to ensure that all changes are compensated. Participate in training sessions and company meetings to promote both personal and organizational development.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline with 3 years of experience in the role of Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or a similar position within the commercial construction sector.

Alternative education/experience criteria: Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the role of Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or a similar position within the commercial construction sector will be accepted.

Special Skills Required:
This position necessitates at least one (1) year of experience in each of the following areas:

Addressing construction challenges that arise during design and construction phases. Project estimation and scheduling. Proficiency in BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar). Familiarity with project management software (CMiC, Prolog, or similar). Experience with scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
