Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for performing site-specific seismic hazard and ground-response analysis, numerical modeling using finite-element methods, and designing earth-retaining structures, slope stabilization, remedial grading, landslide mitigation, and foundations. You will also develop geotechnical recommendations, plans, and specifications for the construction of private and public projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform site-specific seismic hazard and ground-response analysis.
- Perform numerical modeling using finite-element methods as implemented in PLAXIS.
- Design earth-retaining structures, slope stabilization, remedial grading, landslide mitigation, and foundations.
- Develop geotechnical recommendations, plans, and specifications for the construction of private and public projects.
- Support field activities including exploratory logging, observation of deep foundation construction, shoring, grading operations, and other geotechnically relevant construction.
- Complete field, analytical, and project administrative tasks with direction and support from peers and leadership.
- Learn increasingly more complex, non-routine tasks with review and oversight from senior staff.
- 1-3 years of professional or relevant internship/field experience.
- E.I.T.
- Sound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics.
- A team player who enjoys problem-solving and fast-paced environments.
- Has an entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitude.
- Desire to continually learn and grow.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Driven to go above and beyond in client service.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree - Required; M.S. degree or Ph.D. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering - Preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products. Numerical modeling, seismic hazard analysis, and GIS experience are a plus.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment.
- Ability to work and succeed as a team also while being resourceful when working alone in the field.
