About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Marion County. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Services department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Therapist will provide assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention services to individuals and families. This includes conducting community risk assessments, developing conditional release plans, and providing PSRB supervision and monitoring. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Develop and implement safety plans to mitigate risk
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to the PSRB
  • Testify at PSRB hearings as needed
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • At least one year of full-time experience in the behavioral health field (for Mental Health Therapist 2)
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check and pre-employment drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
  • LCSW, CSWA, or eligible for LCSW licensure
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use disorders
