Position Overview

The Human Resources Executive will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience throughout their tenure, ensuring that positive outcomes are achieved for both staff and the organization.

This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit. A positive outlook towards the workplace and alignment with the organization's mission and objectives is essential.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment, assessment, and selection strategy to attract and retain committed personnel.
  • Supervise the Staff Training Coordinator to facilitate employee readiness through effective orientation and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with management to design, execute, and monitor performance evaluation processes.
  • Assist management in navigating the progressive discipline framework, ensuring consistency and proper documentation.
  • Support the management team during employee separations, including resignations, performance-related dismissals, and layoffs.
  • Engage with union representatives to address and resolve employee concerns.
  • Initiate and manage employee recognition programs to foster retention.
  • Facilitate team-building activities to enhance collaboration among staff.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations by maintaining accurate human resource records.
  • Administer employee benefits programs effectively.
  • Oversee workers' compensation claims and manage all Leave of Absence requests.
  • Participate actively in safety committee discussions.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through workshops, literature review, networking, and involvement in professional organizations.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

A degree in human resources management, organizational development, labor relations, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory. SHRM certification is a plus. Effective communication with individuals at all levels is crucial. Familiarity with human resources principles and practices is required. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other relevant software is necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in human resources management, organizational development, labor relations, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • SHRM Certification will be considered.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and other relevant software is necessary.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
