Human Resources Specialist

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing recruitment initiatives, facilitating new employee orientation and onboarding processes, managing payroll and benefits, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Additionally, you will cultivate strong partnerships with our organization's managers and staff to support their human resource requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
Main liaison for all HR and Payroll inquiries

Facilitate onboarding and orientation for all new hires

Ensure compliance with applicable state, local, and federal regulations

Process payroll for over 50 employees utilizing ADP

Administer and produce certified payroll for prevailing wage projects

Support recruitment efforts through various platforms and agencies

Oversee expenses related to payroll reimbursements

Manage requests for tool purchases

Coordinate temporary labor needs, invoicing, and hours approvals with agencies

Post job openings and pre-screen candidates for hiring managers using platforms such as APD, ZipRecruiter, Indeed, and LinkedIn

Collaborate with management on disciplinary matters

Oversee employee maintenance and prevailing wage obligations

Assist in the review process with the management team

Update policies and procedures in response to company trends and needs, communicating changes effectively and promptly

Manage the social media calendar and website updates

Oversee the CT apprenticeship program

Address technology needs for the organization, including but not limited to iPads and iPhones.

Maintain documentation and annual compliance requirements

Ensure office and company compliance with state, local, and federal laws

Build relationships with external partners

Enhance HR skills by participating in relevant seminars, webinars, and conferences

Understand contracts and navigate external business relationships

Assist in managing the ESOP program and its milestones

Support event planning for office activities

Assist employees with various tasks as required

Other responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary by management

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with state and federal laws

Experience in payroll processing (preferably with ADP)

Ability to learn quickly

Independent thinker

Capable of organizing and managing personal workload

Accountable for actions and responsibilities

Excellent communication skills.
