Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute various rating functions and processes to provide Underwriting with essential data for accurate risk pricing.
  • Perform initial assessments of submission applications and conduct quality reviews of data previously entered into the clearance and reservation system.
  • Request and evaluate various reports necessary for the rating and underwriting processes, including D&B, motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, OSHA, SAFER, and business websites.
  • Draft binder letters and correspondence related to policy issuance.
  • Process policies, endorsements, collateral, and all associated forms promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure that policy transactions are rated, booked, invoiced, and issued correctly, adhering to corporate time service standards.
  • Generate conditional, non-renewal, and other legal policy notifications.
  • Prepare necessary motor carrier filings for insured clients.
  • Follow up with key stakeholders to secure required signatures in a timely manner.
  • Address requests for information from brokers and insured clients.
  • Manage customer data across multiple databases.
  • Organize and maintain customer information files effectively.
  • Assist in monitoring central Underwriting mailboxes, including the assignment of tasks.
  • Prepare underwriting documentation forms and workbooks, entering general information, including OSHA and CAB report requests for new business and renewals.
  • Support various underwriting and operational processes, facilitating communication with external brokers and internal departments to aid the underwriting process for current and prospective clients.
  • Engage with internal departments as necessary to resolve policy inquiries and issues.
  • Identify and propose enhancements to improve process efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in insurance policy processing is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of ISO commercial lines policy rating and issuance transactions within corporate systems.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills, with a strong focus on customer service and relationship building.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Ability to adhere to protocols with a focus on quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Capacity to learn complex regulations and guidelines pertaining to motor carrier insurance.
