Senior Group Underwriting Consultant

Elevance Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Group Underwriting Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for determining the acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large and complex group cases.
Key Responsibilities- Calculate renewal rates for large complex cases based on thorough analysis of experience, location, demographics, etc.
- Determine and provide guidance to medical underwriters concerning the risk selection of applicants applying for individual health coverage.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accuracy and consistency of overall account reporting.
- Propose rates for prospective business utilizing a combination of other carrier experience, demographic data and manual rates.
- Perform post-sale reviews and prepare or supervise preparation of annual settlements, ERISA reports, rate projections, or benefit change increments and decrements.
- Survey existing product portfolios by market, monitor sales results, trends and needs, and recommend product portfolio changes.
- Assist in establishing rating and administrative procedures.
- Participate in major multi-functional teams as underwriting representative.
- Assist in the technical development of underwriting associates, which may include monitoring reports and work flow to provide recommendations on productivity and efficiency improvements.
Requires a BA/BS in a related field; Minimum 7 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA, PAHM or other insurance related courses preferred.

The salary range for this position is $92,240 to $166,032, based on a number of legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the company.
Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, and associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week.
Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
