About the Position

This role is located at the United States Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, in Fort Cavazos, Texas. The position involves providing technical financial guidance, support, and fund status to the Command.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, review, and analyze budgets.
  • Verify fund availability and certify funds in accordance with guidance and fund distribution policies.
  • Research, compile, and summarize financial data to provide day-to-day budget execution and fund status.
  • Utilize financial automated systems and software applications to monitor budget spending.
  • Interpret local funding requirements and make recommendations based on established guidelines, policies, procedures, and practices.
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret security clearance.
  • This position is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position, and the incumbent is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes processing various budgetary related transactions, utilizing financial automated systems, and reviewing financial needs of an organization.
  • Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
