Job Overview

Position: Lead Teller/Universal Banking Specialist

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Teller/Universal Banking Specialist to oversee the Teller Department, ensuring smooth operations while delivering exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily transactions including withdrawals, deposits, and money orders, ensuring accurate balancing of cash drawers.
  • Adhere to established protocols while operating the teller window.
  • Handle deposits and payments for loans and credit accounts.
  • Issue and redeem savings bonds, cashier's checks, and check orders.
  • Maintain an accurate and balanced cash drawer.
  • Identify and report any suspicious transactions or activities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by understanding and addressing customer needs, while also identifying opportunities for additional banking services.
  • Ensure compliance with security procedures, including maintaining appropriate cash levels.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries from clients, whether in person, via phone, or through email.
  • Oversee the teller department's operations, including work assignment, problem resolution, and addressing complex customer issues.
  • Assist tellers in identifying and rectifying discrepancies in cash drawers, while also addressing their inquiries regarding transactions.
  • Plan and manage work schedules to maintain adequate staffing.
  • Deliver consistent training for both new and existing staff, focusing on regulatory compliance and operational procedures.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Support the hiring, disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers, and terminations of teller staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of all departmental tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient in accounting principles, typically acquired through an associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant teller experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Prior supervisory experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with teller supervision and familiarity with Fiserv/Navigator, Easy Teller, and Deposit Pro systems is required.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotating Saturday schedule.
