Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Position Overview
As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing mechanical repairs and adjustments on heavy industrial machinery, including but not limited to fans, pumps, gear drives, and compressors. Your expertise will ensure that equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct troubleshooting to diagnose equipment performance issues and implement necessary repairs.
- Actively participate in achieving the plant's safety, environmental, and quality objectives.
- Report directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, contributing to a collaborative work environment.

Expectations for Success
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of hand tools and machinery, including drill presses, band saws, welders, and precision measuring instruments.
- Rebuild, repair, and install various types of rotary equipment such as pumps, fans, valves, and filters.
- Maintain knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to assigned tasks.
- Be prepared to wear a respirator for specific job functions and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Read and interpret blueprints for repair and fabrication tasks.
- Participate in the call-out program and be available for overtime as needed.
- Work swing shifts (3 PM - 11 PM).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's Degree from a Junior College is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience as a Mechanical Technician is preferred.
- Achieve a score of 75 or higher on the maintenance skills assessment.
- Exhibit professional communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from heights, including climbing stairs and ladders.
- Strong grasp of general maintenance processes and methods.
