Mechanical Repair Technician

Position Overview
As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing mechanical repairs and adjustments on heavy industrial machinery, including but not limited to fans, pumps, gear drives, and compressors. Your expertise will ensure optimal equipment performance through effective troubleshooting and repairs.
In this role, you will actively contribute to our safety, environmental, and quality objectives. Reporting directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize hand tools and machinery such as drill presses, band saws, welders, and precision measuring instruments to perform tasks.
- Rebuild, repair, and install various types of rotary equipment including pumps, fans, valves, and filters.
- Maintain knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to assigned Job Qualification Records (JQRs) for all maintenance activities.
- Comply with safety regulations, including the use of respirators when necessary.
- Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Interpret and work from blueprints for repairs and fabrications.
- Participate in the call-out program and be available for overtime as needed.
- Adapt to swing shift hours (3 PM - 11 PM).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's Degree from a Junior College is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Mechanical Technician is preferred.
- Achieve a score of 75 or higher on the maintenance skills assessment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights, including climbing stairs and ladders.
- Comprehensive understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Internal candidates must have completed the Maintenance Operator Training Curriculum and have no active corrective action documentation.
