Position Overview
As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing mechanical repairs and adjustments on heavy industrial machinery, including but not limited to fans, pumps, gear drives, and compressors. Your expertise will ensure optimal equipment performance through effective troubleshooting and repairs.
In this role, you will actively contribute to our safety, environmental, and quality objectives. Reporting directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be an integral part of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize hand tools and machinery such as drill presses, band saws, welders, and precision measuring instruments to perform repairs and installations.
- Rebuild and maintain various types of rotary equipment including pumps, fans, valves, and filters.
- Familiarize yourself with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to your assigned tasks.
- Comply with safety regulations, including the use of respirators when necessary.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Interpret and work from blueprints for repairs and fabrications.
- Participate in the call-out program and be available for overtime as needed.
- Adapt to swing shift schedules (3 PM - 11 PM).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's Degree from a Junior College is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience as a Mechanical Technician is preferred.
- Score of 75 or higher on the maintenance skills assessment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
- Completion of the Maintenance Operator Training Curriculum is required for internal candidates.
