Position Summary
As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will be entrusted with the safe execution of mechanical repairs and adjustments on heavy industrial machinery, including but not limited to fans, pumps, gear drives, and compressors. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing equipment performance issues and implementing necessary repairs. You will actively contribute to our plant's safety, environmental, and quality objectives. This role reports directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and offers a competitive starting hourly wage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize hand tools effectively, including drill presses, band saws, welders, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Rebuild, repair, and install various types of rotary equipment such as pumps, fans, valves, and filters.
  • Maintain familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Comply with safety requirements, including the use of respirators when necessary.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints for repairs or fabrication.
  • Participate in the call-out program and be available for overtime as needed.
  • Adapt to swing shift schedules (3 PM - 11 PM).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree from a junior college is preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a mechanical technician role is preferred.
  • Achieve a score of 75 or higher on the maintenance skills assessment.
  • Exhibit professional communication abilities.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a basic understanding of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights and navigate stairs and ladders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of general maintenance processes and methodologies.
  • Internal candidates must have completed the Maintenance Operator Training Curriculum and meet performance standards.
