Job Overview

Unit Overview:

Sodexo is on the lookout for a Controller for Multi-Unit Operations to oversee financial activities for a prominent healthcare institution. This role is critical in managing the financial health of multiple accounts within our portfolio.

The Controller for Multi-Unit Operations will take charge of the financial aspects of food service, ensuring alignment between client budgets and Sodexo's financial objectives. This individual will collaborate closely with Unit Operations Managers to manage financial operations effectively.

This position entails supervising a team of 5 direct reports and providing comprehensive financial support, including weekly projections, budget reviews, forecasting updates, and periodic financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison for financial projections and inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo standards in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgeting.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly financial reports for the healthcare system.
  • Review financial reports for all units in preparation for district calls.
  • Assist managers during weekend financial reviews, addressing issues and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Provide guidance to Managers, Chefs, and Operations Managers regarding financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager to consolidate weekly financial variances and present findings.
  • Analyze month-end reports and provide explanations for variances along with corrective action plans.
  • Ensure timely completion of weekly reports, including key performance indicators.
  • Deliver training for new general managers and unit administrators on financial systems.
  • Conduct meetings to discuss food and supply cost management, labor optimization, and sales generation.
  • Perform routine audits of inventory and cash handling processes.
  • Support additional financial products as requested by management.

Qualifications:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
