Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and engineering departments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, improve guest satisfaction, and increase market share.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to negotiate business, determine pricing and yield strategies, and attend sales calls/site visits to impact and maintain client relationships.
  • Manage and maintain accurate weekly, monthly, and annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans in collaboration with the hotels sales team.
  • Oversee hotels expenses according to budgeted/forecasted guidelines to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor payroll and ensure effective labor management.
  • Utilize the CSM procurement system effectively and adhere to the approved vendor network for purchasing.
  • Share revenue forecasts with leadership teams to ensure departmental expenses are adjusted accordingly.
  • Review A/R and A/P with emphasis on following accounting procedures as outlined in CSMs Internal Accounting Audit.
  • Manage and maintain company assets to stay within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.
  • Responsible for supporting and encouraging ongoing training and development of hotel leaders and associates.
  • Ensure the new hire training process effectively prepares new employees for their positions.
  • Analyze current training programs and adjust as needed.
  • Implement new CSM and brand training initiatives in a timely manner.
  • Utilize training resources effectively and ensure all training requirements are met.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, coaching, and developing hotel management teams.
  • Prepare and conduct annual performance reviews in a timely manner.
  • Address performance issues accordingly and take appropriate corrective action to hold employees accountable.
  • Motivate hotel staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees.
  • Effectively address areas for improvement determined by CSMs annual Associate Opinion Survey.
  • Ensure annual associate turnover falls within CSMs acceptable guidelines and react to any turnover concerns.
  • Responsible for effective self/workload management and adjusting work schedule as dictated by business needs.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the hotel associates and leadership team to ensure their workloads are appropriate and managed effectively.
  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal skills.
  • Promote a productive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure that departmental/hotel meetings are happening regularly to foster proper communication and planning.
  • Assist in conducting routine inspections of the hotel operation/buildings to maintain standards of CSM, brand, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Understand the importance of handling all guest and employee accidents/incidents in a timely and effective manner while following CSM policy.
  • Assist in promoting corporate safety programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • 7-10+ years of progressive hotel management experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a Hotel General Manager is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with employees and guests.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
