Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic, self-motivated, and experienced Head of Sales to lead our sales efforts and bring in new clients and partnerships. This role requires a hands-on sales leader who will establish and execute the sales strategy, shape the company's sales strategy, and establish its sales engine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Growth:
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy that enables the company to meet its sales goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, and close deals.
  • Collaborate with the marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Prepare sales collateral to help facilitate sales cycles.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Build strong relationships with employers, HR, and brokers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to shape marketing strategies that support sales goals.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
  • Track, analyze, and report on sales metrics and KPIs.
  • Customer Advocacy:
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally, providing feedback to the product and customer success teams to improve offerings and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree desired.
  • 7+ years of sales experience, particularly experience selling voluntary benefits to employers.
  • 3+ years in a sales leadership role.
  • Proven experience driving partnerships with health insurance companies and brokers.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics and sales processes as well as the role of Benefit Administrators (Ben Admins).
  • Strategic salesperson who can craft systematic ways to bring in new clients.
  • Has a strong Rolodex of HR benefit leaders as well as Ben Admin providers.
  • Past success driving sales growth and meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Early stage startup sales experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
  • Hands-on leader who can roll up their sleeves and execute while building processes and team over time.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity.
