Position Overview

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Staff Services Analyst. This position is crucial in providing analytical and consultative support to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Staff Services Manager I or their delegate, the incumbent will:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify operational challenges.
  • Prepare detailed reports and formulate actionable recommendations for management.
  • Assist in policy evaluation and the development of effective systems.
  • Engage in management and personnel analysis to support departmental goals.
  • Provide administrative assistance and respond to public inquiries.

Background Investigation Requirement

As part of the hiring process, candidates must undergo a comprehensive background investigation in accordance with departmental policies. This investigation will include:

  • DOJ/FBI LiveScan
  • Driving record verification
  • Proof of valid car insurance
  • Verification of educational transcripts, if applicable

Statement of Qualifications

Applicants are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). This document should provide a narrative that illustrates how your education, training, and experience align with the requirements of this position. The SOQ must be clear, concise, and no longer than two pages, double-spaced, using a 12-point font.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of the 12th grade.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in analytical, technical, clerical, or customer service roles. Relevant academic education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants must possess eligibility through permanent civil service status, be reachable on an employment list, or have transfer or reinstatement eligibility.

Working Conditions

Employees are required to adhere to current health guidelines, including face covering protocols while on-site. The potential for telework will be determined by departmental discretion.
