Position Overview

As a Product Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the development and marketing initiatives related to Bobcat's Class V Bit Truck Products. Currently, our product offerings include Internal Combustion Engine Forklifts, with plans to expand into Electronic Models in the future.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Gather and evaluate market data across various sectors, products, and regions.
  • Analyze competitor strategies and product offerings to identify market positioning and differentiation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to engage in market research activities, including customer surveys and focus groups.
  • Utilize research findings to formulate long-term product strategies that enhance customer and dealer experiences.
  • Assess Engineering Change Notices for their impact on pricing, performance, and safety, and relay insights to relevant teams.

Product Planning & Development

  • Address operational challenges while ensuring quality and manufacturability in the product planning process.
  • Develop business cases for new product initiatives, focusing on customer requirements and competitive landscape.

Product Management

  • Prepare marketing plans and product specifications to support business objectives and collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development.
  • Work alongside the Program Management Office to ensure product alignment with market demands and project goals.
  • Act as the Voice of the Customer, providing feedback to enhance product development.
  • Coordinate with the attachments team to ensure compatibility of products with approved attachments.
  • Create and maintain pricing and specification documentation.
  • Configure new product and option packages within production planning systems.
  • Develop training materials for product launches and participate in training events.
  • Conduct product training sessions to support dealer Sales Specialists and Field Marketers.
  • Offer ongoing product support to enhance dealer performance.
  • Refine product management processes to promote collaboration across regions and functions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Experience: Background in Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Class V Big Truck material handling.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel 10-24% of the time.
  • Knowledge of construction product development and operational experience.
  • Experience in conducting customer research.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Capability to address dealer objections and provide evidence-based support for product initiatives.
  • Potential for international travel.
